Remembering Beau Bock: A Life Beyond the Pitch
A Follow-Up to Our Recent Announcement
Following our recent announcement of the passing of our one of founding members Beau Bock, we wanted to take a moment to more fully reflect on his life and the impact he had—both within Atlanta Old White and across the city of Atlanta.

Beau was part of the group that established Atlanta Old White RFC in the 1970s, helping lay the foundation for what the club has become today. Those early years required more than participation—they required personality, belief, and presence. Beau brought all three.
That same presence defined his life beyond rugby.
As highlighted in a recent Atlanta Journal-Constitution feature, Beau was a bold and influential voice in Atlanta sports media—someone who helped shape the tone and direction of sports talk radio in its early days. He built a reputation for being energetic, opinionated, and fully engaged in the conversation, becoming a recognizable figure across radio and television over several decades.
What stands out is how consistent that presence was.
The same individual who helped shape sports media in Atlanta was also one of the people helping build this club—long before either space looked the way it does now.
