2025 Gulf Coast Super Regional Champions
On behalf of the entire Atlanta Old White Rugby Football Club — players, coaches, and administrators — I want to extend our deepest thanks for your incredible support during our trip to New Orleans for the National Round of 16 and Quarterfinals.
It brought tears to my eyes to see so many former players and supporters in person. Your presence was powerful, and for those who couldn’t be there physically, your energy still reached us through your messages and your viewership on YouTube. The love and pride you showed for the club truly meant the world to us.
Saturday’s match against Nashville was tighter than expected in the first half. However, after making some defensive adjustments and utilizing our bench effectively, we were able to pull away with a strong 49-20 victory.
Sunday’s quarterfinal was all about defense — just as a final should be. The boys came in focused, and the coaching staff made it clear our priority was shutting down Austin Blacks’ first-phase attacks. We struck early with a try in the first 5 minutes, then held the line with 23 consecutive phases of combined defense and smart play before earning a critical penalty. From there, we stayed composed, capitalized on limited opportunities, and delivered a statement win: 50-0.
While our defense was exceptional, we recognize there's still work to be done in our offensive structure and overall game management. The squad will be training hard over the next four sessions to sharpen those areas.
We hope our performance made you proud. We carry your legacy into every match, and we are driven by the goal of finally bringing home a National Title on May 18th.
